Training

Welcome to the 2008 Training Season! This year we are offering a blend of formal structured courses and informal training opportunities. All of these can lead to the award of RYA certificates, but do not necessarily do so - it depends on what you want. The programme can be found below; there are structured training for RYA L1+2, and for Seamanship. There are also RYA Powerboat Level 2 courses for those who want to help the safety of the club in a pro-active way, and this can be supplemented with the RYA Rescue course. The above are all available for non-members - the premium fee charged can be offset against a discount on membership if taken out in the same year.

Informal training for club members only is provided on a range of Ladies days (see their section for details) and new for 2008, on 4 drop-in coaching days. On these 4 days we will offer training on spinnaker handling (both conventional and asymmetric) and on seamanship skills.

For race training we have Ivor Keats' popular rules rambles and training for OOD/ROD. Not forgetting the work we do for the Juniors, Training has a busy year ahead and we hope that you enjoy participating in these!

For RYA Certified courses, you need to attend all days.
